Rebecca Evans is an experienced and dedicated public service leader, which is reflected in her career path leading to becoming executive director of the Workforce Development Board of Ventura County in 2019. Currently she represents the local area on the California Workforce Association Executive Board and chairs the CWA Legislative Committee. Locally, Rebecca has worked for the Ventura County Human Services Agency leading several programs that included Homeless Services, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), RAIN Transitional Living Center, Veterans Services and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs. Prior to that, she served as Vice President for Services and Resource Development at Many Mansions, an affordable housing provider; Workforce, Training and Policy manager with Ventura County Behavioral Health Department; and as the executive director for the Ventura County Civic Alliance.
Throughout her career, Rebecca has been committed to serving communities and organizations through board leadership, strategic planning, social equity, human centered program design, and working with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders to drive community, workforce, and business solutions.
Rebecca has a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of West Georgia and completed a Post Graduate Series in Management and Organizational Behavior from California Lutheran University. Rebecca completed the Leaders in Action program through the Academy for Professional Excellence at the San Diego School of Social Work, has trained in Dialog Education through Global Learning Partners, and is a current member of the Ventura County Civic Alliance Executive Committee, Founding member of the United Women’s Leadership Council of United Way, and a member of the P-20 Council on Education.
