The VCIC has set an aggressive agenda to address the hiring challenges that our region’s manufacturers face. But more remains to be done. We need to connect teachers, as well as students, with industry’s demand for STEM. We also need to reach into primary grades, low-income and first-generation families, and local teacher training programs, to deliver our message that STEM brings opportunity to workers, families and communities.
